Corridors of Power

A week after President Uhuru  unveiled the presidential Strategic Communication Unit, Deputy President William Ruto's handlers are already feeling the heat as some of their roles have been taken over by the new team. The Deputy President's Press Service took shape before communication unit was launched. The press service now feels that their work is to deputise those in the new unit. Some of our moles around the President have revealed that Ruto's handlers are asking for their roles to be clearly defined or he will be overshadowed by Uhuru.

A Cabinet Secretary was recently heard telling his friends how the recent vetting for the posts were a mere facade. The Secretary told his friends that he would not have made it were it the 10th Parliament vetting them. He said the vetting panel did not have the slightest clue that he had been previously contracted to provide vital services to one of the organs of the government but failed to do so despite pocketing the money. He rubbished the vetting panel saying it is not serious in performing its duties.

A senior government official is a worried man because a junior he used to humiliate when he was the boss is now his senior. How roles reverse so fast! Apprehensive that the worst could be on its way, the man is now contemplating quitting the public service for private business. His reasons that he is not ready to 'boogie' to the same tunes he made his juniors dance to.

A section of Luhya elders now want the New Ford Kenya party leader Eugene Wamalwa to persuade the Trans Nzoia women's representative to vie for a parliamentary seat in 2017. The elders have said their current MP is too busy in Nairobi and is not serving the electorate. The elders claim their MP is indiscipline, cunning and arrogant.
