Kenyans Hilarious Reactions To News That Cost of Jubilee Laptops Had Come Down To Sh8,500

Yesterday, the government announced that the cost of laptops for Standard one pupils had gone down from the initial Sh28,000 per unit, to Sh8500 per unit.

This came as welcome news to those who saw the initial cost as a gross exaggeration, for laptops set to be delivered in their hundreds of thousands. This also comes as good news as the government's resources will not be stretched as they would have, as it seems President Uhuru is determined to fulfill his campaign promise despite strong opposition from multiple quarters.

Now, some people cannot quite get how a 'whole laptop' can cost only Sh8,500. The average retail price for a mini laptop is around 20,000 and around Sh40,000 for a normal laptop.
