NAIROBI, Kenya, Jul 11 – The High Court has postponed the Makueni Senate by election from July 22 to July 26.
Justice Isaac Lenaola says the case will be mentioned on Monday before a three-judge bench that will be constituted by the Chief Justice.
Lenaola has however recused himself from the case, saying he would be uncomfortable hearing the matter.
The decision was made in a case lodged by Wiper’s Kethi Kilonzo, who is challenging her exclusion from the poll by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission which ruled that she is ineligible to participate since she is not a registered voter.
