MPs are the most unpopular leaders only three months after they were elected, a new opinion poll shows.
The poll by Infotrak Research and Consulting also reveals a similar trend in several other institutions including the police, the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission, and the Supreme Court.
According to the report released on Sunday, it is only the media that appears to have maintained public confidence, with majority of Kenyans – 57 per cent – having confidence in their work.
While releasing the report, Infotrak chief executive Angela Ambitho said only 25 per cent of Kenyans had confidence in MPs.
Of the 2,343 respondents that were interviewed in the poll that was conducted between May 24 and 28, only 48 per cent of Kenyans had confidence in the Supreme Court that handled the election petition filed by Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
The report, which was commissioned by Africa Centre for Open Governance (Africog), noted that only 44 per cent had confidence in IEBC.
