Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s aide who is being probed over claims of plotting to destabilise the government has linked his woes to a plot to weaken the opposition.
Mr Eliud Owalo said there was more to his summonses to CID headquarters and barring of Mr Odinga from using VIP lounges at local airports.
The Jubilee government, he said, was borrowing heavily from Moi and Kenyatta regimes which were infamous for cracking the whip on perceived dissidents.
Draw a parallel
“If you look at the accusations that were being levelled against me, you can easily draw a parallel between some of them and what we witnessed during the Mwakenya crackdown,” he told Nation at the weekend.
He said the Opposition should be given space and time to offer positive criticisms instead of harassing them. He said police had failed to substantiate their claims that he was set to receive money from foreign governments to bring down the Jubilee rule.
