Voters file complaint against Kethi at IEBC

Tuesday, July 2, 2013 - 00:00 -- BY STAR REPORTER
Two voters have this morning filed a complaint at the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission challenging the eligibility of Kethi Kilonzo to vie in the Makueni by-election.
The two former MP for Kibwezi Agnes Mutindi Ndetei, and Philes Nthenya Muinde, filed the complaint over the voter registration status of Kethi  who was cleared to run in the Makueni senator by-election by IEBC last week.
The commission gave anyone with issues over Kethi’s eligibility seven days to lodge a complaint. “Having checked the entire Nairobi and Makueni County voter registers we will be submitting evidence that Kethi is NOT a registered voter.” the complainants said. The complainants are also recommending that fraud charges be opened against Kethi.
TNA had also written a similar complaint to the IEBC earlier last week claiming that Kethi’s name was not on the voters register, which would prevent her from standing in the election for the seat that fell vacant when her father, the late Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo died in April.
